What Is Botox ® ?
Botox Cosmetic is an injected prescription medicine that is used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, and to give clients a more refreshed appearance. Botox injections are a quick and minimally-invasive procedure consisting of only a few injections. You can expect to see results about three to ten days after your treatment. Visible results have been shown to last up to four months.
Is Botox ® Safe?
Of all the procedures offered for the reduction of wrinkles, BOTOX® is one of the safest out there. For the past 12 years,BOTOX® has been used successfully and safely in opthamaology, and for the past 10 years has been used for wrinkle therapy. BOTOX® has also been FDA approved for neurological disorders. With the amount of BOTOX® that is used for wrinkle therapy, potential side effects are temporary and localized to the area of injection. Patients are typically able to return to their daily routine immediately after the treatment. There is an initial sting with the injection, but there is usually no discomfort after. The use of medications like Aspirin or Ibuprofen for at least 1 week after BOTOX® is to be avoided
What Is Dysport?
Dysport® is an injectable product that is designed to temporarily relax some of your facial muscles, thereby preventing them from contracting as powerfully as they did before the treatment. Dysport® is a product that shares a lot of similarities with BOTOX®. In fact, both are derived from the same main ingredient.
Dysport® is designed to help you address your dynamic wrinkles without giving you that frozen-face look. To be fair, the majority of people who have that frozen-face look do not have it because of using injectables like Dysport®, but instead because they had a surgical procedure done that was not carried out quite properly.
Dysport® has been shown to help adults who have frown lines in between their eyebrows change the appearance of this section of the face without negatively impacting the rest of their face. While it does minimize the wrinkles that they have in their forehead area, it does not prevent a person from making normal, everyday facial expressions.
The wrinkles that you see on your forehead or around your eyes are referred to as dynamic wrinkles. This is because these wrinkles appear and disappear based on your facial movements. When you smile or when you frown, that’s when you see these wrinkles. However, when your face is at rest, these wrinkles all but disappear. This is exactly what Dysport® aims to do.
What Is Juvederm?
Juvéderm® is a smooth-consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in our skin that helps to add volume and hydration. However, with age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our bodies begins to diminish – leading to the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and a loss of volume. Our medical aesthetic professionals use Juvéderm injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore the skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth).
Juvéderm is currently one of the most popular dermal fillers on the market, and for good reason! Our aesthetic professionals look forward to meeting with new patients and using their expertise to recommend how Juvéderm, or another injectable, could help our patients look younger and feel more radiant.
- Juvéderm XC: The original Juvéderm is designed to smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles, including nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The results can last up to one year.
- Juvéderm Vollure XC: Vollure is designed to subtly soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The results can last up to 18 months.
- Juvéderm Voluma XC: With age, patients frequently begin to lose volume in the cheeks. Voluma is designed to lift and restore volume to the midfacial area. The results can last up to two years.
- Juvéderm Ultra XC: This formula adds fullness to the lips for up to one year
- Juvéderm Volbella XC: Volbella is formulated to add subtle volume to the lips, while also diminishing the appearance of vertical lip lines. These results can last up to one year.
The Injection Process
The Juvéderm injection process is straightforward and can be performed in under half an hour, which makes it a fantastic option for patients with busy schedules. When patients come into one of our three locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Whittier, or Glendora, one of our specialized injectors will meet with the patient to administer the decided upon dermal filler formulation. The majority of patients find the injections very tolerable since they consist of lidocaine to aid in pain relief. Furthermore, the needles utilized for Juvéderm injections are very thin. However, our specialized injectors can numb the area with ice prior to treatment if the patient wishes. If the patient wishes to receive a topical anesthetic, then they should notify the office prior to the day of their treatment. Patients will be able to return to their daily activities following the procedure. However, we recommend waiting 1-2 days before engaging in strenuous activity and to always protect the skin from the sun.
One of the perks of Juvéderm and dermal fillers in general – is the minimal to no recovery period. The most common side effects include redness, itchiness, and slight swelling around the injection sites. This commonly lasts for a few hours, but may persist up to 24-48 hours. Patients concerned with the appearance of these side effects are permitted to cover up the visible areas with makeup, if they desire. Nonetheless, they are free to return to their daily routines. Patients may take over-the-counter medications that the medical professional recommends in order to combat any discomfort.

We offer five different Restylane products to help combat the most common signs of facial aging. Our knowledgeable medical staff can help you determine the best formula to achieve the results you desire at the time of the consultation.
Restylane is a clear hyaluronic acid gel that can be used to improve the appearance of smile lines that extend from the nose to the corner of the mouth, marionette lines that extend from the corners of the mouth to the jawline, and creases at the edges of the lips. Furthermore, it is approved to enhance the upper and lower lips in patients over 21 years old. Improvements can last up to 18 months.
Restylane Lyft is designed to add volume to the midfacial area in patients over 21 years old. This can be useful for patients who have lost volume in their face and now their cheeks appear hollowed or sunken. This formula is proven to last up to 12 months. Furthermore, Restylane Lyft can help diminish the appearance of smile lines for up to six months.
Restylane Silk is specifically designed for lip augmentation. It helps patients achieve natural looking fullness, smoothness, and softness in both the upper and lower lips. It can also help improve the appearance of vertical lip lines. Restylane Silk is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that Restylane Silk effects appear after approximately two weeks and generally last for about six months. The unique NASHA technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.
Restylane Refyne is a specially designed hyaluronic acid dermal filler for the improvement of mild to moderate smile lines and marionette lines around the mouth. It is made with XpresHAn Technology™ to help correct the appearance of these lines, while still maintaining natural facial expression.
Restylane Defyne is also made with XpresHAn Technology, so that patients maintain their natural expression when smile, frown, and more. It is different from Restylane Refyne, because it is specially formulated to treat moderate to severe smile lines and marionette lines.
What Is The Recovery Process?
Following treatment, patients may experience some bruising, swelling, redness, pain, or itchiness at the points of injection. This is completely normal and will typically resolve itself in less than a week for most patients. Light, breathable makeup can be used to cover up and redness or bruising.
Each Restylane product will last for a different amount of time, depending on the formula and where it was injected. In general, they last 6-18 months. Once the product has worn off, patients should schedule another appointment to have the fillers reinjected.

What is Kybella?
Kybella is a specialized injectable treatment that is designed to break down fat cells, leaving a leaner, sculpted chin profile. Kybella is a treatment that has an active ingredient called deoxycholic acid. The injection works in the fat layer under the skin to break down fat cells and reduce the thickness of the fat layer under the chin. Even if you are in good shape, eat well, and exercise, you can naturally possess a double chin.
The treatment is a quick and convenient technique that reduces chin fullness. Fat deposits that develop under the chin can be a result of a number of factors, such as your genetics and aging. Fat under the chin is notoriously difficult to get rid of once you’ve got it. The impact of a double chin is subtle, yet profound. As an anchor point to your appearance, the chin plays a significant role in your overall facial profile.
When a double chin breaks the jawline and weakens the chin, your face may appear rounder and older. Sagging under the chin, sometimes referred to as a “turkey gobbler” also adds years to your appearance. Looking much older or appearing heavier than your actual weight can undermine your self-confidence. With Kybella, there is a convenient, effective solution.
How Does Kybella Work?
The incredible fat sculpting power of Kybella comes from its main ingredient: deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally-occurring metabolic acid in the liver. Kybella is made of a synthetic deoxycholic acid that is FDA-approved for breaking down submental fat under the chin. Submental fat is a term that refers to a unique area of fat that is located under the chin and above the neck. The submental fat layer is compartmentalized and linked to its central role in the aesthetic appearance of the neck. The appearance of excess fat and droopiness under the chin has a lot to do with the composition and thickness of the submental fat layer.
Deoxycholic acid has been in use in medicine for some time as a tool for breaking down fats. The way deoxycholic acid works is that it’s natural properties break down the membranes of fat cells, which destroys the fat cells. The body undergoes an immediate inflammatory response that naturally removes the fat cells from the body. The fat cell removal process can take about three to six weeks after treatment.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. We use state of the art physician grade technology called DermaPen. The fine needles of the device are used to minimally puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin.
We provide complimentary numbing with this procedure. Allow 1hr total for your appointment.
HOW DOES MICRONEEDLING WORK?
- Skin texture and firmness
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Crepey skin around eyes
- Reduction in scars
- Pore size
- And stretch marks.
Microneedling can be done on areas of skin that may not be suitable for peeling or laser resurfacing, such as around the eyes and mouth, hands, and chest. The procedure is well tolerated by patients with minimal downtime, and can be easily personalized by going deeper on some areas where skin damage requires a more aggressive approach.
The total procedure including numbing usually takes about an hour. Makeup shouldn’t be applied for 24-48 hours post procedure.
Usually, multiple treatments will be necessary for the best results. The number of needling sessions depends on the individual’s skin condition. Three or four treatments may be recommended for mild to moderate acne scarring, whereas deeper scars and stretch marks may require upward of five treatments. An interval of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments is typically recommended. Maintenance treatments at intervals of 6 to 12 months. When utilized for generalized skin resurfacing, products such as topical growth factors like TNS Essential Serum and anti-aging serums are better absorbed in the skin as an adjunct to treatment.
